Great post and some interesting comments. I would love to be able to read all of that if I were an aspiring writer.
As one of the commenters suggested, it probably would be a service to new members if RWA pointed them toward some resources like the Ruby-Slippered Sisterhood blog. What a great way to share the ups and downs of the writing experience and get frequent doses of reality and inspiration.
Hmm, that is an interesting idea. But I think, legally, that RWA has to be really careful about who they endorse and in what way. Sending newbies to blogs might be helpful, but they might also get sued in the process. Sadly.
