Epic, Dude.

Guess what, boys and girls? The Winter Wishes anthology, featuring my lil Christmas novella No Angel, along with most excellent works by the divine Moira Rogers (Freeze Line) and transcendent Vivian Arend (Tangled Tinsel) has been named as a finalist in the 2012 EPIC Awards. Can I get a woohoo?

Also among the finalists is my good friend, the fabulous Kelli Scott for her novella Stormy Wedding!

Congratulations to all the finalists and good luck!

Monday Linkage and News!

Lots of fun stuff to share today, boys and girls!

1. Ghosts of Boyfriends Past sold to Samhain publishing and will be releasing in ebook in January 2012! Though not in the Karmic Consultants world, this light-hearted Valentine's ghosty-witchy romance has much the same tone as the Karmic capers. Can I get a woohoo?

2. Winter Wishes, the anthology including No Angel and excellent works by Vivian Arend & Moira Rogers, has been nominated for Best Anthology of 2010 at The Romance Reviews. The competition is steep - Burning Up? Inked? Must Love Hellhounds? Jeez-ma-crow those are some flippin' awesome collections. I'm gonna run tell everyone that I'm nominated in the same category as Nalini Singh and Marjorie M. Liu. Just see if I don't. You can go vote for your favorites in all categories here.

Surprise! You're an Audiobook!

On this week's list of things that crack me up more than they should:

Guess what? Winter Wishes, the anthology of paranormal awesomeness that includes No Angel, is now available as an audiobook! I'm pretty psyched about this development because I'm a huge fan of making books available to low vision booklovers (especially since with my genetic predisposition it's only a matter of time before I am low vision myself).

So why do I find the release of Winter Wishes in audiobook comic? My humor stems from the way I found out. One of my anthology partners tripped across the audiobook on a google search and told the rest of us via Twitter. Surprise! Secret audiobook! I can't wait to hear what the narrator sounds like. :)

Are you an audiobook lover? Do you listen to them in your car or prefer them for visual impairment reasons?

Christmas Came Early!

This morning I opened my inbox and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a slew of really delightful news! Reviews, recommendations, nominations... it's a pretty sweet batch of holiday goodness and I just had to share.

Awesomeness The First: Joyfully Reviewed has selected The Ghost Exterminator as one of their December recommended reads! "This story is as full of surprises as the mischievous ghosts that hijack Wyatt’s orderly world and Ms. Andrews packs in the plot twists with an unflagging wit." I think I might make a pilgrimage to the bookstore today to visit my books and tell them about this lovely review. (That's not weird, is it?)

Awesomeness The Second: Night Owl Reviews have named Winter Wishes a Top Pick and given it four and three quarters stars! "If you’re tired of the some old type of Christmas story, give these a try. There is nothing old or boring about any of them. They take a different look at Christmas and still bring that holiday flavor along. "

But wait! There's more Winter Wishes awesomeness! All About Romance reviewed the anthology and gave it a grade of B and she had such lovely things to say about us! "From the opening line of No Angel, it becomes apparent that readers are in for a treat."

And then, the gooey caramel topping on top of an already luscious Christmas Eve sundae of Awesomesauce, the Romance Studio announced their nominees for the 2011 CAPA awards and what do you suppose should be in the Paranormal Category? Hmmm? The Sexorcist! (Along with a lot of other really awesome books, so there's no way in a demon-infested-hell I'm taking home the award, but wow! Nominated! I'm all aflutter!)

How are your holidays going so far? Hope they are brighter than you could have imagined. Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night, God Bless Us Everyone, and Happy Holidays to you, whatever your celebration preferences.

Novel Thoughts Winter Wishes Week!

The best part about being in an anthology with Moira Rogers and Vivian Arend is that instead of feeling awkward promoting myself, talking about the book is like piling into a van and going on a roadtrip with friends through Romancelandia. There's laughter and silliness (and things given away!) at every stop along the way and it feels like a party instead of narcissistic self-promotion.

And today the party continues! The next stop on our Romance Road Trip for Winter Wishes is the Novel Thoughts blog where all this week we'll be playing around and hosting a little "friends" party where you can win a copy of Winter Wishes or one of the stories it contains not just for yourself, but for two friends of your choice. So come on by and don't forget to bring your friends!

Carina Blog Takeover! Our Evil Plot Successful!

In celebration of Winter Wishes, Vivian Arend, Moira Rogers and I have conquered the Carina Press blog today. Our victory was complete. Our flag is planted. And we're being goofy (as we are inclined to do) and interviewing one another with such burning questions as "To Tinsel or Not to Tinsel?"

Come on by and we will answer any question you have! (And isn't that a loaded gun...)

No Angel Release-tacular

It's release day, darlings! Woot! Not only is this the moment when No Angel bursts out into the world, it is also the release of a plethora of holiday novellas from Carina Press. Holiday goodness to suit every reader, from contemporary to GLBT to paranormal.

I am beyond delighted to be in an ebook collection with Vivian Arend and Moira Rogers, two marvelously talented and just plain marvelous ladies (or technically three since Moira is actually two people). We'll be celebrating our releases over the next few weeks at a variety of venues (and I'll keep you posted as we flit about the interwebz) but today I'm just here to tempt you with the blurby awesomeness of the three stories that compose the Winter Wishes collection.

Tangled Tinsel by Vivian Arend

She's the cat's meow, and he's ready to pounce!

Five miles of leather-clad leg is all it takes to lure Kyle Branegan out from his carefully hidden lifestyle as part of the Cougar Corp, a secret branch of the Shifter Enforcer League. He's hoping for a night of fun and frolic, cat-style, no strings attached. With a sultry swing of her hips, Eloise Scott tangles him up in her ball of tricks, and just when he thinks he's about to get lucky, she cuffs him—naked—to her bed.

An undercover cop in the human police force, El's been given a top-secret mission to keep the big cat under her paw until he's needed to testify in court in the New Year. Her decision to take him home for a quiet Christmas in her sleepy hometown turns out to be far more interesting than she expected. Her parents are suddenly rich, her old boyfriend is sniffing around and all six-feet-plus of sexy cougar male is sleeping in her bed.

And that's before they announce their fake engagement...

No Angel by Vivi Andrews

When Sasha's boyfriend, Jay, is sucked through a fiery vortex to Hell, an angel reveals that Sasha's been chosen as the Champion of Virtue in the battle for his immortal soul. As a perennial offender on Santa's naughty list, Sasha can't believe she's anyone's idea of a girl fighting on the side of the angels. But if she doesn't save Jay, he'll be stuck in Hell forever!

Jay—aka Jevroth—isn't surprised to find himself back in Hell. His visa to visit the mortal plane expired three months ago, but to steal more time with Sasha he's been ignoring his mother's demands that he come home to spend time with his new stepfather: Lucifer.

Sasha has until dawn on the twenty-fifth of December to fight the Legions of Hell and rescue Jay, or be trapped there for eternity herself. But now she must decide if the lying son-of-a-demon is even worth saving...

Freeze Line by Moira Rogers

She can't survive in his world; he can't stay sane in hers

A twenty-first century ice age dulls the magic that emanates from the earth. Shane Sullivan is a lone wolf above the freeze line. He has no desire to join the packs that range closer to the border, where feral instincts can turn a man into a monster. Not until the winter solstice, when he stumbles across a dying witch who needs his help to get back to her people—and her magic—in the south.

Nadia is a powerful woman in her own world, but she's been drained by her escape from captivity in a northern lab. She knows it's foolhardy to trust a werewolf, but he's her only chance to survive the vast white wilderness. The farther south they travel, the harder it is for Shane to keep the beast within under control, and as their mutual attraction intensifies, Nadia's no longer sure she wants him to.

Are you enticed? Perhaps you'd like a chance to win all the Winter Wishes stories? Today I'm being interviewed at the Ruby blog, talking about random writer-type-stuff (way too much, you are strongly encouraged to just skip down to the bottom) and two commenters will win their choice of a book from me - any signed print release or immediate-gratification-ebook.

Happy Monday, everyone! May this be the start to a fabulous week and the continuation of a fabulous holiday season!

Giveaways, Pre-Orders & Reviews, Oh My!

I'm back on US soil, boys and girls! (And there was much rejoicing!) I cannot adequately express the warm fuzzies I feel toward internet that does not have to be purchased in fifteen minute increments. I'm so much more relaxed when I don't have this "Omigod-my-internet-is-going-to-die-in-ten-nine-eight-seven-six..." feeling all the time.

There are quite a few slices of awesome that I'm catching up on, so here's a bit of news to start off the holiday weekend. Listas? Okay.

NUMBER ONE: It's Inez Kelley's Birthday Bash today and she is going wild (wild, I tell you!) with the giving away of beaucoup books. (Over sixty giveaways!) New winners are being announced all the time so go! Comment! Win! (There might be chances to win free copies of The Naked Detective and No Angel. Just sayin'.)

NUMBER TWO: We have pre-order links, boys and girls! No Angel, my holiday angels & demons novella (which comes out in less that two weeks! squee!), is now available for your pre-ordering one-clickyness at both Amazon & Carina Press!

And (you knew there would be an "and") this little novella is also available in a paranormal holiday collection of awesomeness with exciting new releases from Moira Rogers - the post-apocalyptic witches & werewolves mid-winter romance Freeze Line - and Vivian Arend - who penned the steamy, playful cat-shifter Christmas hot-flash of Tangled Tinsel. You can pre-order the Winter Wishes Collection from Carina Press or Amazon too! Buy the package for less than you can buy all three individually! (I'm such a sucker for a good deal. It's genetic. Remind me to tell you the one about my grandpa and the Vienna sausages.)

NUMBER THREE: Google Alerts sent me what I think might be the first blogger review for Winter Wishes! She liked it! She really liked it! (Anytime a reviewer uses the word "wow" I'm catapulted into my happy place.) Click here to check it out.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to the US contingent! You can bet I'll be getting my turkey on. My grandma and I are running out to the store shortly to grab the makings for her "Christmas Salad" which fulfills zero vegetable requirements and is really a desert-type-thing that resembles cinnamon jello covered in three inches of whipped cream. (Yeah, we are all about the nutrition, baby.)

A Mish Mash of Awesomeness!

This week has been awesomeness stacked on top of awesomeness. I almost don't want it to end! Here, boys and girls, in my beloved Bullet List format, is the Compendium of Awesome for the last couple days...
  • Serengeti Lightning is currently #4 on the MBaM Bestseller list! (And if you're really a list junkie like myself, you can click around the site and check out the category bestseller lists - like the uber-sexy shape-shifter list which includes all three Serengeti novellas!)
  • The Naked Detective is now available for pre-order at Amazon! Psychics! Public nudity! Stolen gems! Studly Feds! What more could you ask for in a rollicking ride of a novella? Click now and in the middle of the night on November 16th, the Kindle elves will sneak into your house and insert the Karmic Consultant-y goodness onto your digital bookshelf. Long live the Kindle elves!
  • And... we're keeping the original title for my December angels & demons release! So when I said to look for "a book by me" from Carina Press Dec 6th? Now I can officially command my reader-minions to seek out No Angel, the first story in a new world where angels and demons rub elbows with movie stars and politicians. And where Christmas morning takes on a whole new meaning...

Are you psyched? Cuz me? I'm psyched.

Holiday in Hell!

I'm a little superstitious and a lot neurotic, so I tend to be freakishly closed-lipped about new books until I am certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are going to actually be released. I still don't have what I would call an overwhelming level of critical certainty, but since I did sign and mail the contract a few days ago, I should probably fess up to a little project I've had in the works for a while now.

Drumroll, please...

This December, Carina Press and I invite you to take a break from the burdens of shopping, caroling, and spreading good cheer to read my little spin on the Christmas season, angels & demons style. One badass chicky on an angelic quest, one studly demon chained in Hell needing rescue by dawn on the 25th, and all the fire and brimstone you can handle. It's Christmas just like you always dreamed it could be - with fireballs and semi-automatic weapons!

Look for No Angel (though the title doesn't actually have final approval yet so, um, look for some book by me) coming December 6th from Carina Press!
