My Favorite Things: DAY SEVEN - The Pre-Release Edition!

Happy Pre-Release Day, y'all! Today I'm visiting the Smutketeers and giving away a copy of Serengeti Sunrise so be sure you drop by to say hello (and check out the excerpty sneak peek inside the story)! But before you hare yourself off to the check out the awesomeness over yonder, be sure you comment here for another chance to win in the Favorite Things Giveaway.

And now, down to business. Our next winner! Today, the choice of prize pack awesomeness goes to: Jen B.!!

Congratulations! Please email vivi@viviandrews.com and let me know which of the remaining packs (listed below) you'd like to claim for your very own self.

Serengeti Sunrise is almost upon us! You'd think I'd be all blase about my ninth ebook release, but this one has me all twitterpated. *Cue Like a Virgin 80s dance montage.* It's the first time I've released a story readers have asked for, about a character they already know. And that anticipation adds something to the pot. For me, as a reader, a much anticipated book can either be that much more satisfying... or that much more disappointing. (Here's hoping Sunrise is the former!) Today I wanted to talk about the books we have the highest expectations for, our much anticipated upcoming reads...

DAY SEVEN QUESTION: Which summer book release are you most looking forward to reading?
I'm barely able to contain myself at the idea of Nalini Singh's Kiss of Snow. Julia Quinn's Smythe-Smith girls finally getting their day also has me all aflutter - but there are sooo many more I'm just dying for this summe. Which ones have you ready to storm the bookstores (or stalk your Kindles & Nooks at 3am to see if your pre-order has arrived)?

***PRIZE UPDATE: The following prize packs are still available!***
  • Contemporary Romance Pack: Lead Me On by Victoria Dahl, Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James, & First Lady by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
  • Paranormal Rom-Com Pack: First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones (hardback) & A Date with the Other Side by Erin McCarthy

HAWKE!!!! OMG I'm so excited about Kiss of Snow it's not even funny. I'm also fairly excited about A Cop and A Feel (the author escapes me at the moment...) because I'm a sucker for fortune tellers.

Other than that I admit I'm not too informed on upcoming releases. I have a bad habit of walking into book stores, seeing a new book by a favorite author and squeeling "she has a new one, YAY!!" which always draws a ton of funny looks. And also tends to alarm my son and embarrass my husband.

I just reread yesterdays posts and noticed you tossed in a little Effie. I love you.T

Also looking forward to Deeper than Midnight by Lara Adrian, A Little Harmless Addiction by Melissa Schroeder and Chasin' Eight by Lorelei James - love those McKay Brothers!!

Ooh, definitely Singh's... Also, Ellen Connor (aka Ann Aguirre and Carrie Lofty's writing team) Nightfall is going to be out soon, and that is going to rock!

Is it bad to say I think I might not know if any I want are coming out over the summer lol. I like when authors post when their releases are coming out so I can get 'em :)

I am most looking forward to Collide by Megan Hart. It is another Spice book but it has an unusual twist. It is similar to Deeper in that way.

Congratulations on the new release!

For all the booklovers who don't know what's coming out until it's on the shelves: That's exactly why I asked this question! I'm trying to get the scoop because I feel woefully under-informed myself. ;)

(Yep, I'm just using unsuspecting giveaway commenters for your upcoming releases knowledge. Shameless.)

My top three summer must haves are Hawke's tale, Zoe & Tyler's tale, and Storm Kissed, the next novel in the Final Prophecy series from Jessica Andersen. If you haven't read Andersen you're missing a real treat. Her series around the Mayan 12/12/2012 end time and the warriors racing to save humanity is one of my favorite paranormal romantic thrills.

Tough question. I think it has to be Jacqueline Carey's Naamah's Blessing. I just love that series.

FYI, the first three chapters of Just Like Heaven are up on HC's website: http://harpercollins.com/browseinside/index.aspx?isbn13=9780061491900 . Sadly it just makes me want more, more, more. The other book I'm bouncing on my toes about is Lorelei James' Chasin' Eight.

I tend to be woefully uninformed about upcoming releases, but I'm glad to hear that two of my favorite authors, Nalini Singh and Julia Quinn, both have releases this summer.
