My Favorite Things/Serengeti Sunrise Launch Party!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to DAY ONE of the My Favorite Things Giveaway/Serengeti Sunrise Launch Party! (Can I get a woohoo?) You can win one of the following excellent book packs just by commenting. Answer the question at the bottom of the post and check back tomorrow to see if you've won and play for the remaining prize packs.

What's up for grabs, you ask?

  • Contemporary Romance Pack: Lead Me On by Victoria Dahl, Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James, & First Lady by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
  • Paranormal Rom-Com Pack: First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones & A Date with the Other Side by Erin McCarthy
  • Uber-Sexy Paranormal Pack: Demon's Fire by Emma Holly, Deadly Desire by Keri Arthur, & Master of the Night by Angela Knight
  • Future/Space Sexiness Pack: Take Me & Need Me by Shelli Stevens & Beyond the Shadows by Jess Granger
  • Historical Awesomeness Pack: Two Eloisa James Desperate Duchess Books, Sins of a Duke and Before the Scandal by Suzanne Enoch
  • Romantic Suspense Pack: A trio of books by Roxanne St. Claire, Linda Howard, Julie Garwood
  • Not My Cuppa Pack: Red Hat Club Rides Again by Haywood Smith, Coast Road by Barbara Delinsky, and Suddenly One Summer by Barbara Freethy. (Confession: I haven't read these, so I'm not personally vouching for the awesome, though they are all bestsellers. I'm just trying to make space on my overburdened bookshelves and these three seemed to go together nicely.)
  • Karmic Consultants Pack: Signed print copies of The Ghost Exterminator & The Sexorcist and a digital ARC of the not yet released short story A Cop & A Feel
  • Shifter Digi-Pack: Digital copies (in format of winner's choice) of Serengeti Heat, Serengeti Storm, Serengeti Lightning and the SOON-TO-BE-RELEASED Serengeti Sunrise.
(The Fine Print: Must be a US/Canadian resident for the print packages. Void where prohibited.)

DAY ONE QUESTION: Which author's books would make your list of favorite things? If you had to pick just three to take with you to a desert island (and no taking Kindles, people, there are no chargers!) then which books would you take? (I know it's an impossible question. Luckily, you are unlikely to be forced to stand by this decision. It's like the bibliophile's version of that list of celebrities you get to sleep with and it doesn't count as cheating... or something like that. I promise not to tell Julia Quinn that you were curled up in the dark with Nalini Singh last night.)

I really, really want to take my Kindle, a book on harnessing natural energy (so that I can charge said Kindle), and a botany book so I don't get sick off the wrong berries. But, since you said that wasn't allowed I'm going to go cry in a corner while I'm forced to choose just three paper books to take.

I'm done crying and I've come back with a list. I know how you adore a good list.

1. "The Complete Works of Robert A. Heinlein". Complete with built-in magnifying glass so I can read the tiny, tiny print (and create fire!) as well as a stool so I'm tall enough to read the gigantic book.
2. "My Childhood Favorites" which will consist of multiple books I read and reread as a kid all duct taped together in sneaky way that will totally fool anyone counting my "3" books. Ender's Game, The Giver, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Witches, The Belgariad series, A Wrinkle in Time, Earth's Children Series, and Bridge to Terabithia.
3. Kresley Cole and Nalini Singh will get together and publish their complete works in one big beautiful book and gift it to me. Naturally, they will include all the books necessary to complete their series'.

LOL. Nicely done, Kali. I have great respect for she who bends the rules. With bonus points if said bending involves duct tape. I bow down to your list of "three".

Mine would be the following:

1. Complete works of Linda Howard up to Death Angel.
2. Complete works of Julie Garwood, including her historicals
3. The Chicago Stars series by Susan Elizabeth Philips.

Great contest and early congrats on the release.

that would be an easy question. Shelly Laurenston, Sarah McCarty & the last one is a toss up between Dana Marie Bell or Sherrilyn Kenyon

All my Karen Marie Moning, Julie Garwood, and Eloisa James books. But I'd weep...

Well...after I finished crying because of all the books that I had to leave behind...I would take:

1. The complete works of Patricia Briggs
2. The complete works of Nalini Singh
3. The complete works of Nora Robers and her alter ego J.D. Robb

That would keep me occupied for maybe a month or two and then I would have to start making my own raft so that I could at least make it to a bigger island where there were possibly other people and electricity so I could plug in a Kindle..lol

Great contest idea Vivi!

Shelly Laurenston one humongous book that would include her GA Aiken books too.
Alexandra Ivy her vamps, weres and demons are yummy and I have to support the local author!

And of course there are a mllion more

I'm impressed that y'all can narrow it down to just three authors, but I'm also giggling as I picturing us trying to carry these massive "Complete Works" books we're inventing. Nora Roberts & JD Robb? I'm not strong enough to lift that one!

Just three authors:

James Patterson (because I have been reading his books since like FOREVER lol)
Rg Alexander because she is my #1 fave
and last but very far from least I would have to go with
Sahara Kelly cause her stuff just cracks me up and I need my humor if I can't have my kindle haha

Petting my favorite's bookshelf as I write, and feeling so guilty for leaving some of those gems behind, lol.

My picks:

all of Sarah McCarty
all of JD Robb
all of Joey W Hill

This is a really tough question. If a author writes under more than one name we can take their books under all names write?

1. All books by Jayne Ann Krentz if I can her books under her pen names too.
2. All of Lori Foster's books.
3. All of Lora Leigh's books.

Maybe I can sneak a few of Linda Howards, Shelly Laurenston and a few more when the cost is clear.

1) Maya Banks
2) Lori Foster
3) Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle - I'm putting these three together because they are technically the same author *grins*

Was the question three authors or three books? Because the only way I'm surviving is if it's authors :-D

1. Jane Austen
2. CS Lewis
3. Julia Quinn

Hmmm, perhaps it's time to break out of my anglophilic ways.

Congrats on the launch, Vivi!

My family lived in Ukraine for a year when I was twelve, and I reread "The Secret Garden" at least once a week for the entire year - so I kind of feel like I've already completed the desert island challenge :) But if I had to go again, right now I would take:

1) Kresley Cole's "A Hunger Like No Other" (amazing to see how many times KC made the list for other commenters - she really has something special going with this series!)

2) Robin McKinley's "Sunshine" - not a pure romance, but an awesome take on the vampire genre

3) Julia Quinn's "Romancing Mr. Bridgerton", mostly because I feel like a traitor for naming all these paranormals to my list when I write Regency ;)

Hmm such a hard question since there are so many wonderful authors out there that I love to read...

1. Kate Pearce- absolutely love her Simply Series, historical and erotica how can you possibly go wrong?

2. Lorelei James- favorite cowboy series, the McKay family and their appetites makes your heart stop and will definitely pass the time away

3. Shayla Black- Doomsday Brethern series, wizards, fighting between good and evil, finding the other half of your soul nothing compares
