My Favorite Things: DAY THREE

Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone! A day of margaritas for Mexico! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. And now, without further ado, we have another WINNER! Today's lucky winner of her choice of the Favorite Things Prize Packs Is... Maria!

Congratulations! Please email vivi@viviandrews.com and let me know which of the remaining prizes listed at the bottom of this post you'd like to claim for your very own.

And for everyone who didn't win this time, never fear! The giveaway marches on. More books need homes. As always, just comment to be entered to win and be sure to swing back tomorrow to see if you scored one of the prizes.

DAY THREE QUESTION
: The boys had their day yesterday, and today is all about the girls. I adore a feisty, no-holds-barred heroine and Zoe, the star of my upcoming release Serengeti Sunrise, is definitely that. In honor of her, today's question is: Who is your favorite kick-ass heroine?

And speaking of Zoe, I recently had a graphic design nerd-gasm creating Romance Trading Cards for Serengeti Sunrise and here's a peek at the one I whipped up for our intrepid heroine.

What do you think? You like?

Shana from Serengeti Storm is one of my favorite heroines. I'm a sucker for a tough chick. On the flip side of that, I also really loved Brittany from Sexorcist, she's just so bubbly and lovable. (Do I have anything on my nose?)

Favoritest heroine of all time though is Catherine of Aragon, First wife of Henry VIII. Technically, she's not a fictional heroine, but she has been used an awful lot in fiction books anyway. I just love everything about her...from her early years in Spain, to the tough years after her first husband died, to the impossible and deadly years of her marriage to Henry. She was one tough cookie.

I like more of the non-typical kick ass heroines...ones who are full of heart, funny and you never know what to expect. A couple of my favorites are Brittany Hylton-VanDeere and Stephanie Plum, both are great characters and heroines.

This is a tough question because in paranormal romance and urban fantasy there are so many great heroines but for me it's a toss up between Eve Dallas of the In Death series by J.D. Robb or Anita Blake of the Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton. Both of them are definitely kick-ass and both have some serious emotional issues!

From Your books... All of them. Asking a body to pick is sooooooo not fair. But I think lil Miss Ava Minor would have to be my pick!
If I had to pick outside of your work, Shotgun Susie from Simon Green's "The Nightside" series. She's all violence all the time, or as Simon would write it, "suddenly and violently and all over the place!" But she had her trauma and worked her way through it without being all sentimental and soft and mushy. Then there's Abby Normal from Christopher Moore's "Love" Vampire series. Self described perky Goth, with lines like, "Fu<k socks!" and "Bow before me, skeezy mortals, for I am Abigail von Normal, Nosferateau! Suffer bitches!", and "Oh my God, he rocks my Stripey socks!"

So... yeah. *looks around while the crickets chirp*

Um, and the uber-sexy paranormal pack would have to be my pick on this one... but only because I had a bibliogasm and bought digis of all your books. Anyway, peaces!

Awww, you guys are so cute when you suck up! ;) For the record: y'all aren't required to pick from MY heroines. It's open season.

Love Anita Blake & Stephanie Plum - could they be more opposite and yet more awesome?

And Christopher Moore. Ooooooh, Christopher Moore. How do I love thee? That man is so beautifully twisted. He just makes my lil heart go pitter pat.

My favorite sassy heroine is Ciara Liung from the Naked Detective. Loved that book, and am looking forward to reading A Cop and A Feel soon. I also love Zoe, she is my favorite shifter female so far.

Well I haven't read any new books with kick butt heroines but I'm going to share one of my favorite kick butt heroines from an older series.

Her name is Annwyl or if you happen to be a soldier that's part of her small army you might know her as Annwyl the Bloody, she's an awesome heroine and she's from G.A. Aiken's book Dragon Actually.

She's definitely one of my favorite kick butt heroines, but she's also loyal to her friends. And any woman who's strong and loyal but can kick serious butt when she needs too is an awesome heroine in my book!

Oh and Ms. Andrews I've heard awesome things about your work so I can't wait until I get a chance to read something by you.

Do you have to put up here one of the prize packs you'd like to win or do you wait until after you get notice that you won?

Because I'd really like to win either the Uber-Sexy Paranormal Pack or the Paranormal Rom-Com pack, or also the Romantic Suspense Pack.

Sorry I'm having a heck of a time trying to make up my mind about these, heh I'm just going to stop now before I put all of them on my want list, :)

Thanks for the great opportunity Ms. Andrews!

Gabby - You just let me know which pack you want when you win, so you can delay the decision as long as possible. :)

I've never read any of Shelly Laurenston's GA Aiken books, but they are on my towering TBA stack. And, dude, any heroine who is called "the Bloody" gets bonus points in my book.

First, I love your new Serengeti RT trading card! Gorgeous!

As for kick-ass heroine, I've always enjoyed those girl-spy types--Sarah from Chuck, Sydney from Alias, and Charlie's Angels :) I love the whole look-glam but can outfight you and shoot you from a hundred yards thing ;)

Oh you'll love her Ms. Andrews! I'm speaking from personal experience, her hero Fearghus aka Fearghus the Destroyer is pretty awesome too.

I'll let you know now that Dragon Actually is part of a series called the Dragon Kin, that is if you didn't already know that. I think there's three other books after this one.

And I have a feeling that if you end up liking the first one you'll probably love them all! I hope you get into the series as much as I did, happy reading!

Oh and thanks for answering my question about the prize packs, I wasn't sure because I saw another comment that listed the one she'd like to win so i thought I had to do the same.

Thanks again!

I think for this one the female who came to mind was Sin from Larissa Ione's Sin undone - Demonica series. I love a strong alpha female. :)

Several of my favorite kick-ass heroines have already been named: Anita Blake, Eve Dallas, Stephanie Plum, Brittany Hylton-VanDeere, and Shana and Zoe of Serengeti Shifters fame.

I would add to the list Cat Crawfield from Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. And I have to include all of Kresley Cole's witches and Valkeries - there's nothing better than a kick-ass heroine who fights hard and parties harder.

Captcha = bedless. Um, kick-ass heroines don't need no stinkin' bed?

I have to agree with Gabby...Ga Aiken/Shelly Laurenston are must reads for kick ass heroines. Plus they have a good blend of action, comedy and romance.

My fave heroine of all time is probably Elena from the Biting Love series by Mary Hughes. Love a girl with a bazooka and a great sense of humor.

OMG I love the saying about the picket fence. BAHAHAHAHAHA I love kick ass heroines. I'm going to go with my favorite as Kate from Ilona Andrew's series. I love her strength, her humor and her loyalty. Though Gabby was right on with picking Anwyl. I love her too!

I have so many of your titles on my wish list because I adore the shifter stories so much. But I loved your Ghost Shrink, the Accidental Gigolo...I've read it a couple of times..*S*

I have to say the outrageously Sara in Shelley Laurenston's "Magnus Pack". Wow. Talk about straight up & kick butt, not even taking names...but funny! But all 3 women in the next 2 of her series kick butt, and to hell with names period...*S*
I hadn't laughed and cheered for a character for awhile.

Thank you for the chance to win your book!
