The Gigolo-ness Continues

According to the all-knowing oracle that is Jeopardy (yes, I am a total Jeopardy nerd; I watch it almost every day), February is Creative Romance Month. It seems like everything has a day or a month these days, from Administrative Assistants to Cats to Your Administrative Assistant's Cats.

Creative Romance Month might be gratuitous - what with Valentine's Day already amping up the love vibes - but I love any excuse to glorify romance, so I'm not going to complain.

In honor of the official hearts and flowers month, the Gigolo Contest question of the day is: What is the most creative romantic thing anyone has ever done for you? Or that they could do for you? Or that you have done? Or thought of doing, but never dared to do?

I am not really into valentines day, but I do love it when Hubby decides to cook me breakfast, or dinner. I love snuggling and watching a movie. The one creative thing I can think of is when I was really poor (college student), I grabbed some poster board and made a heart. I then put flaps on it, and under each flap I wrote why I loved my husband. Kind of like a Valentine's day advent calendar :D

To me the most romantic moments are unexpected. They may be carefully planned by the initiator or they may be spontaneous, but it's all about someone doing something from the heart and touching their loved one's heart in the process. Romance takes the random acts of kindness concept, personalizes it, and amps up the most important ingredient, an open heart. It can be as simple as a phone call just to say "I can't wait to see you again"...or a long winter evening sharing champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, fond memories, and heartfelt dreams while snuggling on cushions in front of a wood-burning fireplace. Mmmm.

Can I tell you the lamest V-day gift I ever got? A doggy gate for my station wagon. On that happy note, one day I was going through my "in" box at work, and found a note from my hubby saying that he loved me and hoped I had a good day. I carry that note with me all the time to look at it whenever I need a pick-me-up.

I would love to have a horse and carriage ride, flowers and chocolate. But, I'd be lucky if my husband did anything for Valentine's day. He never does. He says he will, but then does nothing. Not even anything from the heart.

Oh, I love the Valentine's Advent Calendar! But a doggie gate? That's supposed to be romantic? What was he thinking?

I'm a total sap, but most of the guys I've dated don't realize how much I love the mushy stuff since I'm not very girly in other ways. So they think I don't care, they do nothing and I barely have any decent Valentine's tales to tell. Sad, but true.

My husband for our first baby shower ordered a cake that was in the shape of Noah's arc, it was awesome. They put wooden animals on the cake and I still have them. I was really touched by that. The theme to the nursery was Noah's arc
